I've been seriously pursuing fly fishing in Hokkaido for over 30 years.

I've been particularly passionate about spey fishing in main rivers for the past 20 years.

Standing in a vast stream, watching the line swing gently after a long cast, the moment a large trout responds is truly a blissful experience.

You won't catch as many fish as in a mountain stream, but instead, you have the dream of catching one big one.

Then, the fish that is hooked with a big run will use the current to its advantage and run powerfully.

That pull is exceptional.

However, the opponent is nature.

Sometimes you won't catch anything at all.

Nevertheless, the very act of standing in the midst of this magnificent current and casting a rod possesses an irreplaceable allure.
